First John 3:18 says, “Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions” (NLT). I’m sure you’ve heard the expression, “Actions speak louder than words.” So put your love in action today where your family is concerned. Love your children the way they need to be loved.

Simple Ways to Love Your Children Better

Even though your kiddos probably have different love languages, here are five ways to show love to your littles and not-so-littles.

Spend one-on-one time with each child: Schedule Mommy-child dates where you let your little one pick the activity. Make a big deal out of it with a special invitation and build up to the big day!

Put love notes inside your child’s lunch box or love sticky notes on the rearview mirror in your teen’s car.

Give your child the best gift of all—your undivided attention.

Do proximity hugs—any time your child walks by you, pull that kiddo in for a quick hug. (Your tweens and teens may not “love” this as much as you do.)

Brag on your child for a job well done whenever that happens to be the case.
